Stop Political Terror is a coalition of Muslim and non-Muslim organisations fighting recent anti-terror laws which we believe unfairly target the Muslim community and which are counterproductive.

Although there are many Islamic groups and organisations that may essentially disagree with the methodology of the Hizb-ut-Tahrir, Stop Political Terror clearly recognises that the group has a strong policy of non-violence. Proscribing the group in the way intended by Tony Blair will only deepen the sense of injustice that is already decaying this nation’s principles of freedom. This is merely a diversion tactic on the part of the Labour government to displace blame over the London bombings being a direct result of the War on Iraq. The government must realise that by introducing further anti-terrorism legislation and centralising more powerto itself, it will only serve to set Britain up for further attacks.

By Labour pushing forward their oligarchic agenda through legislation that attempts to stifle any dissent, they are effectively turning the UK into a police State. However, the hypocrisy within their own ranks must be challenged as attempts to undermine expressions against injustice in the Middle East must also be directed against those such as Cherie Blair who understand why certain bombings occur. The proposed laws have little to do with catching terrorists, as much as they have to do with limiting basic freedoms.

The principle of self-determination under international law allows for a people to determine themselves politically. Under such a principle the Hizb-ut-Tahrir should be allowed full right to promote the political philosophy of their organisation in order to help those people who are trying to fight against the oppression of a foreign power installing itself illegally. By speaking against injustices in  the Muslim world and promoting a political design to help  reconstruction, the Hizb-ut-Tahrir have not acted illegally in any way  and should be allowed their freedom of expression.
